UNFPA is providing life-saving services to women and girls in need of humanitarian assistance, as a result of the various humanitarian crises in Cameroon. This includes people displaced within Cameroon and refugees who have fled from neighbouring countries.
UNFPA’s intervention in humanitarian context covers Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights as well as GBV Prevention and Response. In line with it SRHR intervention in October, UNFPA deployed 34 humanitarian midwives and provided support for 19 health facilities. Concerning GBV, 3 new Women and Girls’ Safe Spaces were set up in Fotokol and Mozogo (Far North) and Nkambe (NW). A total of 5267 women and girls participated in psychosocial support activities the five WGSS operating in the NWSW in October.
