After having sent two of its staff members on training of trainers sessions in Cairo (Egypt) and Damascus (Jordan) in November and December 2022, UNFPA Cameroon has organized a two-day training session on January 5-6, 2023. Apart from sensitizing the staff on the change and its impacts coming up on the management of the Program because of the introduction of this new ERP, the session also drilled each and every staff on key and priority functions that will be implemented right from the very beginning, on January 9th, 2023. This included the procurement, reception, and payment for the goods and services used to implement UNFPA Program.

Dr. Justin Koffi, UNFPA Country Resident Representative for Cameroon, stressed that “Quantum is an opportunity for all, including our implementing partners. It is a tool, which will help us to move on faster and to become more effective throughout the implementation of our 8th CPD (2022-2026) and beyond”. More than 56 staff members form the country office in Yaounde, Maroua and Bertoua sub-offices, as well as those in the working stations in Buea, Bamenda, and Douala attended. Feedback from the trainees foresees that Quantum will be by large more user-friendly. This could ease collaboration with implementing partners.

For the next steps, UNFPA Cameroon is planning different formats on Quantum training for all the users and on all functions required to reach an efficient country program management.
