The project titled "Provision of Integrated and Lifesaving Response Services to Gender Based Violence Project in the North West, South West, West and Littoral Regions" was funded by the European Union and implemented by UNFPA. In the course of its implementation, the project carried out communication activities including the production of a radio campaign in the affected zones. 

This action supported the production of approximately 200 radio programs who were broadcasted in crisis affected regions of South West, North West, West and Littoral. The programs covered about four main topics : (i) information on sexual and reproductive health related concept and available services, (ii) information on gender-based violence core concepts and specialized services ; (iii) mental health and psychosocial support services  and (iv) information on infection prevention and control of COVID-19.

The programs were jointly developed and conducted by community radios and UNFPA implementing partners COMINSUD and LUKMEF with quality assurance and technical support of UNFPA.

Le Mercredi 13 Juin 2019, Madame Siti Batoul Oussein, Représentante du Fonds des Nations Unies pour la Population (UNFPA), Monsieur Emmanuel Chatue, Président Directeur Générale(PDG) du Groupe Canal 2 International et Madame Colette Chatue, Présidente de la Fondation Canal 2 International ont tenu à Douala une séance de travail sur la lutte contre la Fistule Obstétricale. Lors de cette rencontre, le PDG de la première télévision privée du pays et la Présidente de la Fondation Canal 2 International ont affirmé auprès de la Représentante de UNFPA, leur engagement ainsi que la forte participation du groupe qu’ils dirigent à soutenir ce combat au côté de cette agence des Nations Unies.

 

Cette collaboration participe à l’engagement du Fonds des Nations Unies pour la Population à élargir le partenariat auprès du gouvernement, des parlementaires des acteurs de la société civil et du secteur privé en vue d’éradiquer cette maladie qui touche plus de 20 000 femmes au Cameroun.
